Terms of Use
Last updated: 31 July 2026
By using We Have Food At Home, you're agreeing to these terms. They're written plainly because you should be able to understand what you're agreeing to.
Please read this part: food safety and allergies
The app cannot know anything about your health, allergies, or dietary needs. It only knows the ingredient names you give it.
- It does not know your allergies. It may suggest meals containing nuts, dairy, gluten, shellfish, soy, eggs, or any other allergen. Always check what's actually in the food you're about to make and eat.
- It does not know your dietary or medical restrictions. It has no knowledge of diabetes, celiac disease, kidney conditions, pregnancy, medication interactions, religious dietary rules, or anything else about you.
- It cannot tell whether your food is safe to eat. It has no way to see, smell, or test anything in your kitchen. Any shelf-life estimates are rough guesses based on typical food categories, not assessments of your actual food. Use your own judgment, and when in doubt, throw it out.
- Suggestions are ideas, not instructions. They aren't professional nutritional, medical, or food safety advice. Cook things properly and handle food safely.
If you have a serious allergy or medical dietary requirement, please treat this app the same way you'd treat a recipe suggestion from a stranger: as a starting point you verify yourself.
What this app is
We Have Food At Home suggests meal ideas based on ingredients you tell us you have. It's made and run by one person, and it's actively being developed. Things will change, break, and improve.
Accounts
You can use the app without an account. If you make one:
- Give us a real email address you can access
- Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for activity on your account
- Don't create an account if you're under 13
- You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@wehavefoodathome.app
We may suspend or remove accounts that are being used abusively, to attack the service, or to break the law.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to break laws, attack or overload the service, scrape it, resell access to it, or attempt to extract its underlying prompts or code. Don't upload photos of other people without their permission.
Your content
Ingredients and photos you provide remain yours. You give us permission to process them for the sole purpose of running the app — identifying ingredients and generating suggestions for you. We don't claim ownership of anything you upload, and we don't use it for any other purpose. See the Privacy Policy for details.
AI-generated content
Meal suggestions are generated by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). AI output can be wrong, odd, or occasionally nonsensical. Suggestions may not account for quantities — the app knows what ingredients you have, but never how much of them. Apply common sense.
Availability and changes
This app is provided as is, with no guarantees. It may be unavailable, lose data, produce poor results, or change substantially without notice. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Some features may be free and others paid, and what's included at each level may change. We'll give reasonable notice before changing the terms of anything you're currently paying for.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any loss, injury, illness, damage, wasted food, wasted money, or other harm arising from your use of this app or from any meal suggestion it produces. You use it at your own risk and remain responsible for what you cook and eat.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.
